Dr. PoonKeeHoon is well trained in treating patients with all types of braces (Orthodontics) .She graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the National University of Singapore. She later obtained her specialty training in Orthodontics with a Master of Dental Surgery from the National University of Singapore in 2004. She was also admitted as a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in 2004. Dr. Poon is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. She is also a member of the Association of Orthodontists, Singapore and the Singapore Dental Association.
Dr Poon’s special interest is in the management of patients with snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea. Her master thesis research was on the use of dental appliances in the management of obstructive sleep apnoea. She has given numerous lectures and presentations on these topics locally and internationally. Her research was presented at the International Asian Dental Research in 2005. She later presented at the 2006 European Orthodontic Society Meeting held in Vienna. Dr Poon published an article titled “Airway and craniofacial changes with mandibular advancement device in Chinese with obstructive sleep apnoea” in the Annals of the Academy of Medicine special edition focusing on sleep and its disorders. She was an invited speaker at the Singapore General Hospital Annual Scientific Meeting and the Singapore Sleep Symposium in 2008. Dr Poon is a member of the Singapore sleep society.
